This Privacy Policy explains how DesignScript (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use any of our Google Sheets™ add-ons, including Free Email Verifier for Google Sheets™ and Free Link Monitor for Google Sheets™ (collectively, the “Service”). We also follow Google’s API Services User Data Policy.
1. Data We Access
When you run our add-ons, we only access the data that is required to perform the action you requested, such as:
- Selected spreadsheet ranges containing email addresses, URLs, or related columns.
- Basic technical metadata (for example, your Google user ID) when needed for authentication, quota management, or abuse prevention.
We do not read or scan unrelated files in your Google Drive.
2. What We Don’t Do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your email lists or URLs for our own marketing.
- We do not share your spreadsheet data with advertisers.
3. How We Use Data
We use the data you select solely to provide the functionality of the Service—for example:
- To validate email addresses and return statuses such as Valid, Invalid, or Risky.
- To check URLs and return HTTP status codes, redirect information, SSL state, or UTM-related flags.
The results are written back into your Google Sheet so you stay in control of your data.
4. Storage & Retention
In general, email addresses and URLs are processed in memory and are not stored long-term on our servers. We may temporarily log minimal technical data (such as timestamps, request counts, error messages, and hashed identifiers) for security, debugging, and rate-limiting purposes. These logs are kept only as long as needed and then deleted or anonymized.
5. Legal Bases (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract – to run the checks you ask our add-ons to perform.
- Legitimate interests – to keep the Service secure, improve performance, and prevent abuse.
- Consent – for any optional features that explicitly ask for it.
6. Processors & Transfers
We may use reputable infrastructure providers (for example, cloud hosting and logging services) that process limited data on our behalf under data-processing agreements. Where data is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required by law.
7. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the type of data and risk, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend not storing highly sensitive personal data in spreadsheets unless strictly necessary.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to object and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@designscript.in. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
9. Children’s Data
The Service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy over time. The “Last updated” date will indicate the latest version. Continued use of the Service after any update means you accept the revised Policy.
